Aviophobia Pin →
The day after a passenger plane was deliberately crashed by its pilot, Antwerp-based contemporary jewelry maker Peter Vermandere translated his growing latent fear of flying into this little creation. With time passing, the fear faded, and the creation silently became part of the kabinet of curiosities which is his atelier... Until the moment when we discovered it while visiting the wondrous place after a chance meeting the night before. Peter decided to create a series of pins out of the crashing plane especially for us, which we named 'Aviophobia'. It taught us that some birds happen to fall a little longer than others, but they will fall in the end.
